Thanks Giving Post

The most useful skill I have attained in the last couple months is how to analyze literature. Before I took Honors English I thought the author wrote the book purely for entertainment and read it on a very literal level. I can happily say that I am naive no longer. Now when I read I think of why the author would have said certain things and search for what the author is trying to say about life through the characters. This enables me to understand literature on a deeper level and ponder some of the themes and motifs of the novels. Wile reading I think of all the things I learned like themes, motifs, symbols, irony, tone, satire, connotation and diction!
